Trinity University is proud to announce Nicole Monsibais as its new Title IX and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) coordinator. Monsibais, who joins Trinity from Our Lady of the Lake University and has prior experience at St. Mary’s University and the University of Texas at San Antonio, will begin her position at Trinity in early March. As Title IX/EEO coordinator, Monsibais will coordinate and facilitate compliance with University policy and laws related to equal opportunity, anti-harassment, non-discrimination, sexual misconduct, and sexual violence.
Monsibais brings to her role a self-described collaborative approach, which will resonate across campus with offices such as Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, Athletics, the Trinity University Police Department, and the University’s General Counsel. She will also be responsible for leading Title IX/EEO educational programs for students, faculty, and staff; overseeing Trinity’s complaint process and addressing systemic patterns or issues related to complaints; and providing training and consultation regarding compliance, regulations, and best practices.
“One of my favorite parts of this job is being active in the campus community,” Monsibais says. “I care deeply about creating a safe and inclusive community, and one of the best ways to do this is through visible participation and collaboration.”

On top of her legal education and years of experience in Title IX, Monsibais also has deep experience with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance, Clery Act compliance, and wellness and intervention programs for students. She has also served as a chief diversity officer, the president of a staff assembly, an ad-hoc member for faculty policy review, and a close partner with student conduct boards and honor councils.
“I’m not your typical attorney,” Monsibais joked in her on-campus interview open forum with students, faculty, and staff. “Even so, I am highly confident in my ability to keep up with ever-changing policies and procedures—yes, even the ones happening as we speak.” Monsibias referenced changes to Title IX legislation that took effect in 2020 and the changes the Title IX/EEO community is anticipating in current regulations.
